This tiny, squarish space gun by SAN is an early Japanese tin litho raygun toy. Made in the early 1950s, it has the chunky and relatively unsophisticated appearance of most of the other early Japanese guns. It's wonderfully colorful and graphic, although somewhat simple, lithography foreshadows the later decorations on Japanese space toys. Length 3 1/2 inches.
